So today wasn't really post worthy, but tomorrow and the days following will be and I don't really want to have a double day when I could devote an entire post to the awesome things that will be going on.
Anyway, Philip slept over last night because my host mom was going to help him get ready for his 3 day vacation by helping him pack and really just talk with him. He's a pretty cool guy, and it was interesting to see him this morning and talk with him. I left for school and arrived just in time for my first of 4 straight classes: physiology. However, instead of delving into why the renal system works and how it's important, our teacher passed out our tests and went over them with us. He had just gotten through adjusting the grade due to throwing out questions he thought weren't good and we were able to learn (or confirm) a little bit more on the physiology behind the cardiovascular and respiratory system. We finished class early, and Dr. Wasser let us get into our groups for the Otto Bock project so we could hash out any problems and come up with new ideas.
The next class was Design, where Sarah went through a little bit on how groups work and why teamwork is important before letting us get back in our groups to think some more and come up with a group name. It was pretty nice because at the end of the day we were supposed to explain our ideas to the teachers so they could get a feel on what our design actually is and how it's supposed to work as well as guide us in a general direction if we were confused on our objectives. After about an hour to come up with a team name and new ideas, we sat down again to go over more signals and systems. I think I may have been overreacting on Monday, because I could understand what was being said and what was going on for the most part, and later when I was working on the homework on Monday's material, I generally understood what to do.
After signals was a little bit of time for lunch before heading back to work on the design as well as signals homework. Once our lunch period was done, it was time to present our ideas to the teachers. Unfortunately, my group ended up going last, but that turned out to be alright because it allowed us to get little tweaks done to make our design better. When we presented to the teachers, they seemed to really like our ideas, and the only problems that they had were things that we had only touched a little bit on and were planning on going back over later to make better. Hey, there's only so much you can come up with in a 3.5 hour time span. Actually, in our discussion, they came up with some possible solutions that we really liked and are planning on modifying and including if possible.
When all our classes were done, I settled in to finish up signals, and didn't realize how late it was because I'm used to the sun going gown at around 5:45. It's not even Daylight saving's time yet! By the time I leave, sunset will be at like 8 or something! Oh, I am so looking forward to DST, for some reason I haven't been sleeping well, and I think part of it is the fact that the sun decides to shine right into my window super early in the morning starting at around 5:30 or so. This is really problematic if I have a late class and want to sleep for another 3 hours, or even if I have an early class and don't have to get up until 6:45-7. Anyway, the point is that I left later than I though and went home for dinner and time with my family. Then I left to talk with two of my good friends back at College Station before writing this blog post.
Tomorrow is the string quartet concert, and I'm super excited for it. The rest of the weekend is also chock full of things to do, so stay tuned for all the things going on here in Bonn.
'Till then!
