Although Marseille was probably one of the prettiest ports we've been to yet, we didn't spend much time there. Instead, we woke up late and got off the boat after breakfast before following a green line that would take us to transport into town. There was the option to get a shuttle from the cruise to the city center, but it was rather expensive when you could grab a bus for 1/10 the price. Instead, we walked along the helpful green line that was painted along the road leading to a bus that would get us to the city. Just as we were reaching the end of the line, we looked out into the distance to see a faint outline of spires against the sky on the top of a hill. We thought it was pretty, but rather far away and not really worth the trouble of getting there. Instead, we took the bus all the way to the end of the line before getting off. As soon as we got off and turned around, there practically staring at us was a huge church. Can you see a theme starting here? Well, I think I may have been rubbing off on my companions because they saw it, and wanted to go see it. It helped that it was really the only thing we could see as a landmark. We walked around inside of it, and it was really pretty. It had nothing on the basilica that we visited yesterday, but I was still happy that we stopped. This church was called the
Cathédrale de la Major and is a national landmark. It was created by someone who was in exile for a while before coming back to bring Christianity to the poor and those that were glanced over. He later became Saint Eugène de Mazenod and caused a great many people to become Christians while he was alive. Really the only reason why I know this is because there was a lot of info on him in all languages.
Anyway, we left a little bit after that and tried to find the city center because if we knew one thing, it was that we were not where the rest of the foreigners were. We eventually settled down at a cute little cafe and had coffee and tea before leaving to wander again. Soon it became apparent that we were in the middle of a residential district and would probably need to take a bus to the city center, but we didn't want to guess on the bus to take because that would in no way help. Instead, we hopped back on the bus and rode back to the cruise ship. There was a little shopping center by the harbor, so I searched for a pin, but couldn't find it. Instead, I contacted the other group in the city center and asked them to pick one up for me. They said if they found one they would, but they might not. As a backup, I bought another key-chain that could be converted into a pin and boarded the boat. The others went to sleep after we ate lunch, but I sat out on the deck to soak up the sun. We've had absolutely wonderful weather this entire week and I was taking as much advantage as I could to get warm.
Unfortunately, clouds started to obscure the sun and the wind picked up, so I went back to the cabin to see everyone still up and about. Going back wasn't idea, but it was a good thing because we needed to go to our disembarkation meeting to learn what we needed to do before we left the ship. After the meeting, we met up with the other cabin and walked out on deck before planning on getting together later that night. That night at dinner, we talked with our table mates and even go their emails so we could keep in touch with them. In the middle of dinner, all of the waiters started singing and dancing, even getting the diners to ballroom dance with them or start a conga line. It was an absolute ball to be a part of, and we left dinner that night happy at our experiences while eating this past week.
Once we went back to our cabin, we started packing so we could be done before everyone else arrived. About an hour later we met up and just talked and had fun together like only a bunch of college students can. Then we went to sleep so we could wake up early enough the next morning to still get ready and eat before disembarking.

Look at all the people up and about!
When else would this happen?
