Day 14 - Museum day

Today was awesome! I woke up really late, like around 9. No I didn't go out. I went upstairs to get ready and sat on my bed at one point and just...never got up. I slept for about 12 hours though, so I think I needed it. I missed out on a cool night of craziness, but there'll be other nights. Anyway, I woke up late and started trying to figure out what the plan of the day was. Eventually we settled on going to Beethoven's birth house and museum, and so at 2 I found myself in front of the museum with two other people (Austin and Robert) and we used our 'welcome to Bonn' coupon to get in for free. The museum was really interesting and told about the life of Ludwig von Beethoven and showed off a lot of his instruments and works of art. If you haven't figured it out yet, Beethoven is a sort of hero here in Bonn because he was born here and became so incredibly famous and well-liked. The museum had little pamphlets explaining each room and what significance it had for the family, with the pamphlets coming in about 7 different languages. They even had an interactive audio thing on the ground floor that had all of Beethoven's symphonies and a gift shop that you could buy stuff at. I might go back later and get something. Unfortunately I wasn't feeling too great this morning, so I went back to my home and took a 3 hour nap instead of hanging out at AIB with some others that were doing homework/hanging out there.

After my nap, my family came back home from a party they had gone to. Sophie had to leave soon after to go to a dance practice for Karnival, but Marie, Annette and I had a delicious dinner that was a leftover from yesterday. If anything, the extra day made the meal even better than it was originally. I stayed and played with Marie for about an hour before I decided to leave to meet up with some of the people still AIB to work (read: blog for TAMU and socialize). Some of us want to go to karaoke tonight at a pub that we all seem to like, but there's debate on whether or not that's going to happen. I hope it does, karaoke seems like a fun plan.

As you can see, today was rather sparse on actual events (though the night may or may not be), and unfortunately we were not allowed to take pictures in the museum, so not too many pictures about that. However, I really like the various pictures I put on here, so here's some about my program, the city, and my host sisters.
Most, if not all the others on the program
 Beautiful Bonn

Ciao!
